Community Health Assessment Released!

Every four years, Rockingham County Division of Public Health collaborates with community organizations to develop a comprehensive Community Health Assessment (CHA). The goal of the CHA is to identify factors that affect the community's health and determine the availability of resources within the county to address those factors. The resulting document summarizes trends in health, mortality, wellness programs, and more for community members.

Using data collected during the CHA process, Public Health staff worked with community stakeholders to identify the county's top health priorities for the coming years. Those priorities are:

• Mental health, emphasis on substance misuse
• Physical activity and nutrition, emphasis on food access
• Social determinants of health, emphasis on early childhood education
