Internet access continues to expand within the County!
The end of January marked the 2 year anniversary from the project kick-off. The original goal was to provide access to 3,250 address points throughout Rockingham County. We are excited to announce we have surpassed that goal with access provided to 3,264 address points. Although the goal was surpassed there are still some remaining areas in Phase 1 to be completed due to construction and permitting delays. Once completed we estimate there will be at least an additional 250 included in this phase of the project. Crews continue to work diligently in the County to complete these in the near future.
The addresses now eligible for service have been updated in our database and are available for search on our website under the Broadband section. Residents can call Charter Spectrum at 833-267-6094 to subscribe for services.
Spectrum and County staff want to continue the momentum from Phase 1 and move directly into Phase 2 to make sure internet is accessible to as many residents and businesses as possible. Over 500 additional address points have been identified that would be eligible for funding in this next phase. Our goal is to have this list finalized within the next 30 days.
