Wentworth, NC (September 20, 2022) - Spectrum has announced that work is underway to expand the fiber footprint into the qualifying Connect Broadband areas.
The internet provider has submitted permits for pole attachments to the power utilities and approvals are underway. Spectrum expects that residential expansion could begin as soon as October. Rockingham County residents should expect to see work crews throughout the county over the next year as they install the fiber optic cable necessary for broadband connections. Work is slated to begin in the central part of the county, where currently available broadband will be expanded as permits receive approval.
The County has planned to share timelines regarding specifc areas as crews report in during the coming weeks.
