This TV public service announcement features Rockingham County Emergency Services Director Rodney Cates painting a picture of how important first responders are in our daily lives. Cates is administrative leader supervising 9-1-1, EMS and fire; therefore, he gives an accurate assessment of 9-1-1 Public Safety Telecommunicators, the first professionals receiving emergency calls, first dispatching emergency professionals and equipment, and first rendering life-saving assistance for the community. According to Cates, "9-1-1 telecommunicators are the 1st First Responders!"
