Obtaining a Permit

Zoning verification and land use permits are handled by Rockingham County Planning and Zoning unit (336-342-8130). If property is being used with city/town limits, you will need to work with the city/town for permitting (Eden, Madison, Mayodan, Reidsville, or Stoneville). 
Planning and Zoning Services

Planners review and approve zoning and site development and subdivision of land, and long range planning.  Planning and Zoning manages the county's Land Use Plan and Unified Development Ordinance. Staff also administers planning and zoning for the Town of Wentworth.

Planning Applications

Documents and Forms are available for download. Planning approvals are processed electronically, and we can forward signed final plats to the Register of Deeds if desired. The Technical Review Committee is reviewing submitting digitally as they are submitted to Planning. Please email documents in PDF format to [email protected].
