3rd Dose Vaccinations are available starting August 23, 2021.
The Rockingham County Department of Health and Human Services is providing 3rd dose COVID-19 vaccinations for immunocompromised individuals every Tuesday, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. 3rd dose vaccinations are recommended for people who have:
- Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors of cancers of the blood.
- Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system.
- Received stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medication to suppress the immune system.
- Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome).
- Advanced or untreated HIV infection.
- Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response.
According to the CDC, emerging data suggest some people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems do not always build the same level of immunity after vaccination compared to people who are not immunocompromised. An additional dose of the same brand of vaccine is recommended for moderately to severely immunocompromised people at least 28 days after they've completed their initial two-dose series to help increase the body's immune response.
Individuals should speak with their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.

We ask that individuals fill out a COVID-19 Consent Form and bring the form with them to their appointment.
