Tuberculosis (TB) is a respiratory disease that affects the lungs. It is caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Though known mainly as a bacteria that attacks the lungs, it can also attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine, and brain. It is also important to note, not everyone infected with TB bacteria becomes sick.
