Child Health Clinic
Rockingham County Health Department provides a medical home to many children in the county and welcomes new patients. Staff provide medical screenings for children from birth through 20 years of age. Services include primary care (sick visits); and physical examinations that include developmental screening, dental screenings, hearing screenings, vision screenings, preventative education, nutrition and laboratory screening. These services meet the requirements for school physicals, sports physicals, Headstart physicals, kindergarten physicals, college physicals and camp physicals. Visits may also include immunizations and referral to a specialty provider if necessary.
The purpose of Child Health services is to maintain good health by:

Appointments
Call the Health Department and ask to schedule your child an appointment. If you have been seen by another medical office (including the Emergency Room), it would be helpful to have those records along with a list of any medications your child is taking. We request that you bring your insurance information and proof of income to your child’s appointment.
Clinic Hours
The Clinic schedules appointments Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4pm. We offer extended
hours on Thursdays until 7 pm.

Paying for Medical Services
Rockingham County Health Department accepts Medicaid and most insurances. Please call to see if we accept your insurance type. For those with no insurance, we charge for services according to your income and family size.
Language Assistance
The Health Department employs Spanish interpreters and has access to telephone interpretation services for many other languages.
