Limited Food Service
Establishments prepare and serve food only at amateur athletic events.
Permits for limited food service establishments can only be issued to:
- Political subdivisions of the State (towns, cities)
- Establishments operated by volunteers that prepare or serve food at amateur athletic events
- Establishments operated by organizations that are exempt from
federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) or section 501(c)(4) of the
Internal Revenue Code.
Examples would be high school concession stands or concessions at recreational sports leagues.
Permits
Limited Food Stands must apply annually for their permits by filling out the Limited Food Stand Application and pay the $75 permit fee.
Limited Food Stand Permits expire 365 days from issuance.
Inspections
Limited food service
establishments are inspected once or twice a year depending on how long
during the season the stand is operated. Grades are not required to be
posted in these facilities.
Inspection sheet
Health inspections focus
on the food handling practices that most often result in foodborne
illness. The same grade sheet that is used to evaluate restaurants is
used to evaluate Limited Food Stands during inspections.
